Gretchen always pulled a heavier load at home even when we were both working, but with our current situation at least I don't have to feel so guilty about it!Kirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06076964401233678093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341696.post-1142440785775115832006-03-15T11:39:00.000-05:002006-03-15T11:39:00.000-05:00Well I think it goes both ways. It does sound like a good show. I think I'll have to look a bit deeper at all of this...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09455800980666388178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341696.post-1142437875584731992006-03-15T10:51:00.000-05:002006-03-15T10:51:00.000-05:00Unbelievable, isn't it? How many are willing to give up their careers (permanently or temporarily), move to another country, learn another language, take care of all the house "stuff", etc. For those of you out there who have a spouse like I do - we are truly blessed. I enjoy my work, but if I had to come home and participate in all the household chores that we did together on weekends and evenings I would enjoy it a lot less and our home life would be much less pleasant because we would simply not keep the house as clean, we'd eat more take out food, and we'd run around on weekends shopping for essentials instead of going to all the wonderful places we are able to enjoy instead. I hope I'm able to keep TBF retired for the rest of his life because I think it makes both our lives more fun together and hopefully we'll enjoy longer lives together without the hectic stress that dual income couples have (in general). :-)Mrs. TBFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13760462475713090920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341696.post-1142430788816594082006-03-15T08:53:00.000-05:002006-03-15T08:53:00.000-05:00Aren't our spouses great? It all sounds pretty good, but OUR lives are much better with me not working. I take care of all the stuff during the day that we used to have to do during the evenings and weekends back in Chicago. Our evenings and weekends are now free from running errands.
Also, not owning a big house with a big yard means we don't spend the non-errand running hours during the weekend cutting grass, cleaning, doing laundry, etc.
Yes, we plan to make this last when we move to the next place...which may or may not be Chicago. The Big Finnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09399330438126032649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341696.post-1142395322288760842006-03-14T23:02:00.000-05:002006-03-14T23:02:00.000-05:00by the way - was the job that bad?by the way - was the job that bad?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09455800980666388178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341696.post-1142394273436004282006-03-14T22:44:00.000-05:002006-03-14T22:44:00.000-05:00Not bad not bad...
