After a nice dinner and a couple of glasses of wine/beer, we decided to "push the envelope" a bit by taking our blood pressure. Yes people, we have a sphygmomanometer (jealous?). My blood pressure was an incredibly normal 118/74. Mrs. TBF, on the other hand, was somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep at an anemic 85/55. So, she's taking it again........................oh...oh....ohhhh.......92/65!!!!! She's ALIVE!!!!!
So, after finding out that we didn't have high blood pressure, we decided to celebrate by...booking a trip to Paris.
WE LOVE PARIS!
We'll be flying on Easyjet for a cupla hunnert francs, and we'll be there for the weekend of February 17-20. We're kind of thinking of it as a late Valentines Day gift to ourselves (we've already decided to wear red during the entire weekend!).
We're pretty proud of our efforts on a Friday evening. Bon soirée!

Ah I'm jealous! I wish we were close enough to go anywhere but quite frankly traveling down to Bellingham to go shopping just isn't as appealing as Paris...
(I should be thinking Whistler..but hubby doesnt ski just yet.)
And well traveling to the island seems to take as long as a hefty plane flight after the 2 hour journey and the hour we need to arrive before just doesnt seem so appealing to me...
Oh well I'm sure you will have just a swell time and make us jealous with wonderful pictures from your time a Paris...
Sounds great. I'm sure you'll have a great time! Maybe we should get ourselves a sphygmothing, too. A great reason to book a trip. Enjoy the foie gras!
Hi TBF, sounds great. Trip to Paris and then as a late Valentine's gift?? How romantic. We have been thinking about Zermatt or Grindelwald for Valentine's Day. Ever heard about the Iglo Hotels? We got curious when reading about it and are seriously considering cuddling up in a hotel made out of ice and snow...BBrrrrr, but cozy!
Ooooh! Lovely! The Paris thing... not the sphygy thing... although my Doctor is always trying to sell me one of those as well!
Wow, that's some low blood pressure! I have one of those thingies too and have to stop myself from measuring 16 times a day.
The Paris weekend sounds great! I haven't been to Paris since 1987.
Since you guys are both avowed travel divas, how do you manage EasyJet?
Hey we're going to Atlanta, GA that weekend, not as glam as Paris but it's out of state for us!
Hey TBF, forgot to Blog?? Missing you and Mrs. TBF's comments!
Kirk - Since the EasyJet flights are so short, and there aren't many options for Divaishness on these short flights any way, we like the option of going super cheap on the airfare and then plowing the savings into an ultra-Diva hotel room. Plus, so far, our experiences with EasyJet have all been good. Except for not being able to reserve a seat, the service is pretty much the same (maybe even a bit friendlier) than on Swiss, Air France, or Lufthansa on these intra-European flights. The EasyJet seats are DEFINITELY more comfortable than the seats on those blasted Saabs that Swiss uses around Europe!
canadianswiss - Sorry, I had a 24-hour flu bug. Plus, not much has been happening. I'll blog soon.
