A Light Dinner...

We ate a late lunch in Nikko. It was approaching 8:00 p.m. by the time we got back to our hotel in Tokyo, so we decided to just grab a light dinner at one of the restaurants by our hotel. We perused the window of a nearby restaurant, saw some "plastic" soups and noodle platters on display in the window that looked good, and decided to give it a go.

The wait staff didn't speak any English at all, so I just pointed at something on the menu that looked good and held up two fingers. A few minutes later, the waitress put a huge bowl containing noodles and various other things on the table. I thought she was going to bring us a couple of smaller bowls so that we could share, and then...

...she brought out the second bowl.

So much for the light dinner!

I think these bowls of noodles cost something like $10 U.S. each. It was A LOT of food for $10! Mrs. TBF couldn't eat it all, but...I sure did. Yup...every last drop!

I'll tell ya, I could really go for one of those bowls of noodles right now. Of course, it would be half the size here in Switzerland, AND it would cost three times more!

I loved the noodle soups there! I only I had to fish out the "too fishy for me" stuff out on one or two occasions :(
