F-Off, Young Greens!!!

After on-going, intense negotiations, Mrs. TBF and I have come to an agreement: the "For Sale" sign will go up in the Jeep window around September 1st.

Why then?

Well, I'll tell you why...

Mrs. TBF wants us (and I can't blame her) to keep the Jeep through the hottest part of summer so that she doesn't have to ride the tram home from work when it is hotter than a sauna and filled with passengers emitting nostril-hair and eyebrow singeing body odor AND old Swiss people who complain when one opens a window because they believe that wind causes illness.

The plan is that I will pick Sugar Mama up at work on the hottest days of July and August - as I have in previous years...because it's in my job description - and then, hopefully not too long after that, the chapter on Jeep ownership will come to a close.

At least that WAS the plan...

Wouldn't you know it? Now, those stinkin' Young Greens of Switzerland are trying to cause trouble for us four-wheel drive owners. Of course, "...the limits would only be applied to new registrations" (gee...that's swell of them!), but "...older vehicles [such as ours] would be allowed to stay on the road as long as their maximum speed was kept to 100 km/h."

Who the heck is going to want to buy our Jeep now???

Or...

Will the threat of strict limits on new four-wheel drive vehicles make our "grandfathered" Jeep...even MORE VALUABLE???

Woooo Hoo! Go, Young Greens!

They're making the same sorts of noises here about emissions. I have a feeling that my 11 year old and yet has less than 18,000 kilometer Toyota is going to get me screwed over because it'll be declared as too dirty.

hmm.... yeah I guess it's a hard decision, but I still think you'd be saving money...

i love the wind causes illness one!

Seriously if you are worried about emissions sell it to someone who will be sending it back home to Slovenia or Morocco. Yeah I know I sound flippant.

It seems that Whistler or the lower mainland of Vancouver wants to do the same thing.. It was rather deja vu hearing this!

Hope you feel better on Vday!
