I was born in Canada...
I grew up in America...
I lived in Switzerland from 2000 to 2010...
I moved back to the U.S. in 2010...
I'm of 100% Finnish ancestry...
...and, I'm big...I'm The Big Finn!
Check out the daily goings on of TBF and his wife - Mrs. TBF. We do a lot of traveling, hanging out with friends, and just plain...ENJOYING LIFE!
cs - Nope. Mrs. TBF doesn't have and American flag, but I'd consider her to be patriotic.
chris - Great! Now there are at least two Canadian flags flying in Switzerland today.
jul - Thanks, but what about poutine?
christina - No. I'm a permanent resident of the U.S. (green card), but I never became a citizen. Why? Probably because of laziness more than anything else. I'll apply for U.S. citizenship when we return to live in the U.S., AND after I live there again for three years. YES, the previous 37 years of living in the U.S. count for nothing. I'll have to start all over again. Shoulda, woulda, coulda!
Oh. And I forgot to mention... 1) I have poutine sauce 2) I'm getting REAL cheeses curds flown in and 3) You are invited for your first poutine. Let me know when you're available (You're planning to go to the US soon, right?)
cs - We leave on the 19th, so anytime other than this Saturday evening will be great.
I have to admit, I did have my first poutine at the Costco in Sudbury last summer, but that didn't count because it wasn't served up by a real French-Canadian.
I don't have an American flag but my car used to wear a sticker after 911. I am not actually "proud" to announce that I am American over here by way of a flag though, I do tell everyone who askes.. I never hung a flag at home... not even on the 4th of July! I am very proud to be a Californian.. 'cuz our state ROCKS!!! Maybe I will buy the Californai state flag and hang that one.. I have a feeling that no one here will have the faintest idea what it is!! heheheh... Take care, Leesa
P.S. When you and Mrs. TBF come out here in Oct.. We would be delighted to meet up with you guys.. If you'd like I can organize a little get together at the HUGE Starbucks in Opera.. my favorite one besides the one in Montparnasse.. We can fit a lot of blogger bodies in that shop- and they have plush, velour seats... I'll even make you guys some choc. chip cookies or brownies since you can't make the picnic... Just ask Mrs. TBF what she likes and I'll be happy to make it... Take care, Leesa

Hmmm. I don't have a flag :( Does that now make me a bad, unpatriotic Canadian???
>> My flag is flying? How about yours?
Absolutely! Happy Canada Day!
Here, I got you a card!
You betcha! Happy Canada Day.
Just wondering, TBF, are you a dual citizen?
cs - Nope. Mrs. TBF doesn't have and American flag, but I'd consider her to be patriotic.

Make that three flags, I have some random neighbor who not only has the flag but has the flagpole. Flies all year round.
Ah, I knew there had to be something. But poutine? That sounds... naughty.
