I was just sitting around reading a magazine, and I suddenly felt my throat getting scratchy. Seeing it as a good excuse to take my beloved generic Night Time Cherry Flavor cold medicine that I bring back from the U.S. (Mrs. TBF says I'm addicted), I did just that. Although I did sleep like a rock for over eight hours, I did wake up with a sore throat.
So how does one fight a cold? I...
...fight the sore throat by gargling with salt water.
...pound Vitamin C tablets even though there's no real proof that it does anything to help.
...drink the blessed nectar from heaven cherry elixir, and...
...whine like a baby so that Mrs. TBF will wait on me hand and foot when she gets home from work.*
I'm open to suggestions. What do you do?
*My cold hasn't yet developed into a full-blown man cold. But Mrs. TBF doesn't know that. Does she?

Well if you haven't gotten the flu yet, feel lucky. Mine hasn't fully gone away and I keep getting a sore throat...
Whining... Hmmm.... You gonna have a party?
p.s. - hope you feel better!
Funny that I just read about that today. The flu is a viral infection and a simple cold is a bacterial infection. To the cold: Not that much to do. It has to pass. Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids (preferably non-alcoholic, tea is good) and tablets to still the throat pain. If you have fever or temperature, then that cherry med or plain aspirin will help you. If it gets worse, see your doctor.
cs - I take the night time cherry manna from heaven when I have a cold whether I have a fever or not because it helps me sleep...like a rock!
Hey TBF.... I used to be a VICSAHOLIC! When I had brochitis and asthma.. It was the ONLY thing that allowed me to sleep at night-- Like a rock, too.. I might add!! I had forgotten all about it.. I am going to see if they sell it here in France and if not...I am going to ask some friends to bring some back for me..
I hope you are feeling better soon... I was sick with a bad cold for 2 weeks and the the end of the first week I went to my doc... who gave me stuff for the "symptoms" but said I could work with the kids as long as I didn't cough on them... Well, I went to work that week and felt like CRAPPPP!!!
It was all the cold weather I was walking around in to get to their houses... It went to my lungs- now I have bronchitis and asthma... AND this morning, I have a stuffy/runny nose and a bit of a sore throat again.. Sooooo ... Round 2 ---- Bring it ON!
Hope you are feeling better.... Don't give it to Mrs. TBF!!!!
