Two Weeks Ago...

...we were in Paris. I left for Chicago a couple of days after returning from Paris, so I just didn't make time to blog about it. And now, it's old news, so let me just say a couple of things.

Dear tourists: The proper pronunciation of this Metro stop is George sank and not George vee. Please make a mental note in order to avoid any further embarrassment.

Also...

This, a copy of the Statue of Liberty's torch, is a monument to French-American friendship. Yes, it is directly above the tunnel where Princess Di was killed, but it is NOT the Princess Di monument. It doesn't bother me if you continue to leave cards or flowers.

OK...

...got THAT off my chest!

You mean some people actually call it the "George vee" station?

And yeah, I've heard several people thinking that the Flame of Liberty was made as a memorial for Diana...

After that, how do you want us to not make fun of tourists?

david - Yes, I have actually heard people say George "vee". Also, there's nothing wrong with making fun of tourists: people do it all over the world.

How funny you mention this... I would have called it George the Fifth before thinking to call it George V. But, hey.. that's just me!!
Also, hmmmmm... the Statue of Liberty Flame-- I NEVER knew that - though I did know it was for the friendship thing... When did they stop becoming friends?? When American started calling French Fries-- Liberty Fries??!! They should have called them Statue of Liberty TORCH fries.. instead.. .or just Fries!!!!!
I see that David made his way over to your blog, too... Great!!! Were all connected in this Blog place!!
Take care TBF/Mrs. TBF!!! -- Leesa : )
