Nature's Palette...

We've been having some really nice sunsets lately. The sunset earlier this evening had some very nice shades of orange. Unfortunately, I couldn't get as much color saturation with my little digital camera as I would have liked.

Gonna have to shell-out for a bigger/better camera one of these days!

AND,...

...for those of you who have been wondering. The fake "natural" garden is coming along quite nicely. If you'll recall, this is how it looked last September when the work was just beginning. And this is how it looks now.

You know, the proper way to maintain a prairie-style garden is to do a controlled burn every year or two in order to simulate the burns caused by lighting strikes that result in prairie regeneration.

Hmmmmm. I wonder if the landlord would go for that.

Oh! I didn't realize it was Canada Day or that was even such a thing.. Sorry, I'm not so cultured!! Hope you had a Happy Canada... don't know what you do traditionally but maybe that was your summertime Thanksgiving!

leesa - What do I traditionally do? Laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, clean the litter box, water the garden, etc., etc....

I'll bet if you did a controlled burn on Swiss National Day, no one would mind. Just tell your neighbors it's a bonfire.

The garden looks great!

Doesn't your camera have a sunset setting? These are on even the simplest digital cameras and they work well. I find that my camera's photos come out kind of bluish so I use the sunset feature when I want to really warm up whatever it is I'm photographing.
