There Oughta Be A Law...

I walked into the meat department of my local grocery store last week, and I could barely contain my excitement when I saw that they had "American Spare-Ribs". Sure they were kind of small, and...pre-marinated (with a marinade that is used on other meats that Mrs. TBF says causes me to smell like garlic for days), but...I cared not. Wanting to encourage the store to keep stocking the things, I bought three of the rather expensive "slabs" (approaching $10/lb.), brought them home, and was about to throw them in the freezer when I noticed that...

...they are a product of Germany!

WTF?!?!?!?!?

They're still in the freezer.

They had a cbc report on tv about this in Canada... You can claim it's Canadian if you add a sauce and ship it out from Canada soo...

Maybe Germany can claim it's a product of Germany or can claim it to be a product of Germany if you make any portion or the last production part in Germany..

The ribs could actually have come from the states... You'd have to ask the company for that info to know though..

At least that is what the report said about the Canadian food, so I'd venture to guess this could be a possibility with these ribs.

et - It's definitely German meat. These ribs weren't expensive enough to have been American meat which is very expensive in Switzerland.
